Rory McIlroy moves within two of Dubai lead after third-round 65

Rory McIlroy was pleased after bouncing back from a second round to go back into contention in the DP World Tour Championship to have learnt.
Headed into the weekend six strokes off the pace in Jumeriah Golf Estates following his opening-round 64 using a two-over 74, only to rally with a 65 that was round-of-the-day at Dubai on Saturday.
Prior to adding three more birdies in a bogey-free round the world accompanied back-to-back gains posting a gorgeous eagle in the par-five seventh.
The Northern Irishman sits with McIlroy pleased to still have a chance of a fifth victory of this year and over 2 strokes of leaders Jon Rahm and Mike Lorenzo-Vera, in third spot.
I think, not just golf, but thats what life is all about, McIlroy said. Its learning from everything you do and being of a current mind so that you can learn as you move.
I kind of figured out exactly what I did wrong yesterday, and I was able to rectify it somewhat today and put myself back into the championship.
You have got Tommy (Fleetwood) and Jon there up, obviously, and Mike is holding stable at the top. He [Lorenzo-Vera] played yesterday.
Im going to have to go out there and shoot a comparable dent tomorrow to that which I did today to actually have a opportunity. But just really pleased I have myself back in the golf course.
Lorenzo-Vera temporarily extended his cushion birdies at a four-hole stretch from the first time to four , only to discard his lead and went to the day.
I think I played better today than yesterday, Lorenzo-Vera said. Some much better shots all day and well, I think we messed up a little with the option of bar off the tee 18. That wasnt catalyst.
This was a bit overly competitive, but thats the match and I tried my very best. We know in this wind.
You dont control anything except your own mind. Thats the one thing you can command tomorrow, so I just hope for the identical game program and let us see whether the golf would like to give me something else
