Top 10 Unknown Wonders of the World

We all know the famous Seven Wonders in the Early History were The Pyramids of Egypt, HangingGardens of the Babylon, Statue of Zeus of Olympia, and Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Moausoleum at Halicarnassus, Colossus of Rhodes, and Lighthouse of Alexandria. But though it was an ancient list, there have been new list made based on other factors considered. One of the list made in modern age also consists of our famous Taj Mahal as a wonder of the world. But there are many more wonders in our world, which can be as wonderful it can be to look and to feel. Some of them are man made and some of them are natural by God’s creation. Both can be breath taking view with some of their own unique qualities of their own. Some of the unknown wonders of the world which might not be listed, but worlds famous for its unique things are,

10. Kashmir Valley, India

Kashmir valley is located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and is formed by the Jhelum River. Kashmir is one of the wonderful places of our India and the coldest. People from all over the world visit this place and Kashmir Valley is known for its beauty here. It was called as ‘Paradise on Earth’ by the Mughal emperor Jahangir.  The valley is one of the favorite attractions among the tourists, as well as to our Bollywood movies makes. Many famous movies like ‘Junglee’, ‘Kashmir Ki Kali’, ‘Andaz’, and recently Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ have been shot here. Though due to incidents of violence occurred in 1990, the Bollywood entry had been stopped until now. The climate here is moderate and never goes dry, though the weather is unpredictable here. The Kashmir Valley passes through the Ladakh, a well-known place for our soldiers who fight for our safety.

We all know the famous place of Amritsar from Punjab. The Sikhs community’s Gurudwar in this place is known as the famous Golden Temple. In the nineteenth century Maharaja Ranjith Singh covered the temple with gold, by which it’s got its name. The temple symbolize of openness through four doors leading inside of the temple. One could hear chanting of poems and hymns through out the entire day which scripted on the entire wall of the temple from olden saints, and Sikhs.

We all have heard about the famous Niagara Falls but have you seen or known about IguazuFalls? This falls is also as spectacular in its view and attracts many tourists in the location. It’s a waterfall from the River Iguazu in Brazil, South America. It’s considered as one of the worlds natural Heritage by UNESCO. The falls have different climates. Summer is tropically hot and humid while the winter the water level is quite lesser. The best time to visit this place would be in the months of spring and fall seasons. The ‘Devils Throat’ is the tallest among all the falls.  The Iguazu National ark is a world famous one and is visited by many people from all over the world.

7. Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The coral reefs are the small living animals found in the marine habitations, which are rich in nutrients. Great Barrier Reef is one of the world’s largest Coral Reef systems in it. It can be seen through space and its structure through a helicopter is a wonderful and mind blowing view. According to a recent scientific study its said that the reefs have lost its coral cover at most of the parts.  The Great Barrier Reef supports many kind of living organisms which includes some of the endangered ones too. It’s been protected by the MarinePark facilities from the fishing and tourism. The Barrier Reef is famous for its water sports such as Scuba Diving, Outback Safaris, White water Rafting, Sea Kayaking, and many more.

6. Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy


Imagine yourself standing in a slanting position, we just cannot do it more than a minute. But this Tower built like that which stands slanting is one amazing wonder, because it’s not a living thing, and the tower needs straight support. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. One would wonder that there is some specialty for this tower to be leaning to one side, but its none than the problem with the foundation. When the construction in the second floor had started, the building began to sink due to the weak and unstable subsoil, and this caused the construction to stop almost for a century.  Later the construction was continued under the architect Giovanni di Simone.

One cannot forget the view of this spectacular falls that is Niagara Falls. This falls is a mixture of three other water falls, which are Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Niagara Falls is the largest water fall among all in the world for its highest flow rate.  It’s a main source for hydroelectric power. The falls is a natural attraction for tourists and millions of people come from all around the world to view this falls. It is believed that the falls is formed since the Ice Age, all the ice melted and formed into the three famous rivers which finally flowed into the sea. The Falls is one of the attractions for movie makers as well.

4. Temple of Emerald Buddha, Sri Lanka


The temple of emerald Buddha is a world famous for its richness and beauty. The sitting Buddha is made up of emeralds and gold clothing and is about 45 cm tall. It is on the grounds of the GrandPalace in Bangkok.  According to our legends the statue was created in India by Nagasena in Patna city (pataliputra than). It was later taken to Sri Lanka to protect from war and destruction. Later it was requested from the Buddhist to support their custom. Their request was granted and was handed over to them.  Though some historical stories says that the statue was found in Thailand and it was dug out there.  There are three sets of gold garments which are changed by the king of the Thailand based on the season changes, It symbolizes the three different seasons of Rainy, summer and winter.  This temple is a beautiful view of green and yellow with its Gold and Jade.

3. Petronas Twin Tower, Malaysia


This is not the world famous Twin towers of trade instead it is a TwinTower of skyscrapers for commercial office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This tower is an example for the great architecture by the architect Cesar Pelli. The towers are connected by each other through a sky bridge. The towers found more media attraction when it was featured in the famous movie ‘Entrapment’ acted by Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones.

2. Angel Falls, Venezuela

AngelFalls is one of the highest falls, which is in Venezuela. The name of the falls comes from named after James Angel, who was first to fly over the falls in a plane.  Though there are claims from different people for having been sited the falls before Angel passing through and name have to be changed.

1. Cave of Crystals, Mexico


A piece of Ice itself can make you feel different. It’s a view when the translucent ice is carved into different shapes and at huge sizes. Sometimes it can be scary too. Due to the heat in the ground water, it get saturated with minerals. The empty space in these caves is filled with this water and remains in the same way for a very long period of time and this helps to form crystals and grow in size of huge.  These caves are preserved for a view of next generations and to learn from them about the process.
