Today there are so many groups in the world who work online without any name. They call themselves as the anonymous hacktivist. It is said that these types of groups have got originated in the year 2003 and since then they are working to do one or the other mischievous activities using the web. These anonymous groups have been opposing the internet censorship and the surveillance. These anonymous groups have even managed to hack different government websites and have made several other security agencies as their target. So here is the list of the biggest hacking which is done by the anonymous groups till date.
10. Hacking of Saudi Aramco
The hacking of the Saudi Aramco is at the number tenth spot in our list of the top ten biggest hacking ever done by the anonymous group. This time the people from the anonymous group managed to hack the Saudi Arabia’s national oil firm. The company later on confirmed that the main network service was hit by a malware. Due to this the Saudi Aramco website had to be shut down for some day during which the threat was neutralised.

The country Brazil faced one of the biggest online cyber-attack in June 2012. The people from the anonymous group not only managed to hack the different websites belonging to the Brazilian government. The anonymous group then leaked the confidential personal data belonging to the top most people of the Brazilian government. Even the Brazilian government official website along with the website of the president of the Brazil was done for a day.
8. Hacking of MasterCard and Visa card
The hacking done by the anonymous group on the data of the MasterCard and Visa card is at the number eighth spot in our list of the top ten biggest hacking ever done by the anonymous group. Hackers supposedly based in the United States targeted the Visa card holders along with the people having the MasterCard. This notorious work was done in the month of April 2012. These people managed to collect the details of various users from a United States payment processor. The banks later on had to re issue the new cards to the user to counter attack this security breach.
7. Bank Cyber attack
The cyber-attack on the major banks of the United States is at the number seventh spot in our list. As many as five bank’s website named as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, United States Bank, JP Morgan Chase and PNC bank was hacked by the anonymous group for many times during the week and the bank had no idea about it. This incident happened in the month of September 2012. The experts have claimed this as one of the biggest cyber-attack that has been ever done. With the hacking of the bank website the people from the anonymous group managed to grab the highly confidential data of millions of customers belonging to these banks.

The hacking of the ASIO and DSD is at the number sixth spot in our list of the top ten biggest hacking done by the anonymous group. The anonymous group hacked the Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO) and Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) websites. The hacking of the website of the agency which looked after the nation’s security is surely among the biggest hacking ever done. The people of this hacking group not only managed to down the website of Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO) for rest of the day but also announced on Twitter about their plan to hack the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) website.
5. Hacking Yahoo Accounts
One of the giant on the web, Yahoo also could not save itself from the attack of these Anonymous groups. The hacking of the Yahoo accounts by the anonymous group is at the number fifth spot in our list of the top ten biggest hacking ever done by the anonymous group. This anonymous group took responsibility of breaching into the Yahoo server and stealing very important data. They did it using a union based SQL injection and managed to expose more than 453,492 plain text login of the Yahoo users. Initially Yahoo said that there has been no such hack but then Yahoo later on confirmed that there was a hack into its database.
4. Hacking of PSN
Another case of hacking came into picture when the anonymous group claimed to have hacked the Play Station Network once again. Hacking of the play station network not only made the confidential detail of about ten million customers at risk but also lime lighted the fault into the play station network which could easily been hacked by the various notorious group. When the anonymous group hacked the play station network they managed to grab database containing the username and password of the various user and was of 50 GB in size.
3. DropBox Storage Accounts
DropBox which is an online files storing website was also attacked by the anonymous group when they managed to hack the website in the month of August 2012. The people from the anonymous group not only managed to grab the confidential details of the users but also made login from their account and did one or the other things. The parent company did the investigation about this hack for more than two weeks and then later on accepted that the username and password of various users were stolen and further was also used by the people of this anonymous group. The DropBox Company later on had to hire some outside people who neutralized the attack.
2. Hacking of PayPal Passwords
The hacking incident which is at the number second spot in our list is the hacking of PayPal passwords. In order to celebrate the Guy Fawkes Day which is celebrated on 5th November, the anonymous group hacked as many as 28 thousands PayPal password which affected many people from round the globe. This incident was carried out when the anonymous group hacked one of the servers of the PayPal and from there they managed to steal these passwords, user information, their email address and other valuable information. This anonymous group then later on announced to the world about this hack on the Twitter. However the PayPal first claimed that there has been no such incident but later on they agreed.

GoDaddy is seen as one of the most used and also the biggest hosting provider on the internet. GoDaddy is the house of many websites which store their content on it. People from all over the world were in a state of shock when some anonymous group hacked the GoDaddy. Since GoDaddy is the largest domain registrar, it affected several other websites too on the web. This hacking was done in the month of September 2012. The GoDaddy server was severally damaged due to this and it failed to resolve the hack.
