Top 10 Best Sachin Tendulkar Batting Innings, Master at his best

Sachin is the legend in the field of cricket. He is treated as “God of Cricket”. He is the top most run scorer in international cricket. He scored hundred centuries in all the formats of cricket. It is very difficult to compare any of his innings with other. But these are some of best centuries of Master Blaster in test and one day international.

10. Perth, February 3, 1992, 114 v Australia –  5th Test


India was to take on Australia in final test in five match series against Australia.  The pitch was best suited to Australian fast bowlers. In reply of Australia’s 346 runs in first inning, India lose 2 wickets for 69 runs. But Tendulkar then started counter attack on Australian pacers. He contributed 114 runs alone in a total score of 272 runs. India lose this match too but this was the first best inning of Sachin in difficult conditions.

 9. Chennai, March 9, 1998, 155* v Australia – 1st Test


Australia gained a lead of 71-runs in first inning. India needed one of his batsman to score a big to overcome first inning’s lead. India’s second inning score was 115 for two when Sachin came on strike. He started making boundaries in every corner of ground. He scored 155 runs off 191 deliveries. He scored 14 fours and 4 sixes. After his heroic inning, Indian inning declared at 418 for four. Australia played under pressure in the second inning and lose the match by 179 runs.

 8. , Sharjah, April 22, 1998,143 v Australia – ODI

In a deciding match of Sharjah, India needed 284 runs to win and 254 runs to qualify in final.  Sachin scored 143 runs in just 131 balls with the help of nine fours and five sixes. India failed to win that match but it ensured its place in the final. He became the one man standing till last but failed to finish the match in a heroic way win.

7. Sharjah, April 24, 1998, 134 v Australia – ODI

Same place, same opponent and again same inning by master blaster. Australia scored a decent score of 273 runs. Tendulkar again started his batting as replay of previous match. He scored 134 runs this time with the help of twelve fours and three sixes.  India won the match by six-wickets. The most interesting fact is that 24th April was his birthday. Whole of the stadium was on celebration that day.

6. Chennai, December 15, 2008, 103* v England – 1st Test

In test cricket, it is very difficult for a team to chase a target in fourth inning. England put up a target of 387 runs. So this score was looking unachievable for team india on fifth day of match. Tendulkar started his inning with a lot of patience and india near to a unbelievable victory. He played till the end and scored 103 runs unbeaten which result in victory of team India.

 5. Chennai, January 31, 1999, 136 v Pakistan – 1st Test

India always face problem in batting last in final day of match. In the match against Pakistan, India required 271 runs to win. India lost his five wickets on just 82 runs. He played with a lot of patience with Nayan  Mongia, He played very well but could not finish the match and India lost this match by 16 runs.

4. Bloemfontein, November 03, 2001, 155 v South Africa – 1st Test

In the first session of first day, India was on back foot by losing four wickets on a sum of 68 runs. Tendulkar, then, came for batting and started scoring with singles and boundaries on each and every part of ground. He scored 155 runs in just 184 balls with a strike rate of 84.23. But the result of the match was against India as South Africa won this match by nine wickets.

3. Sydney, January 3, 2004, 241* v Australia – 4th Test


Before this match, Tendulkar was out of his form. He was failed to score in previous three tests. Then he played a brilliant inning of 241* and answered people who said that his time is no more. He played continuously for two days without any mistake. This inning is really a comeback of a legend.

2. Hyderabad, November 5, 2009, 175 v Australia – ODI


This match was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Australia scored 350 runs Batting first. This score is generally safe in one day international. But century of Sachin made the kangaroos frightful for a moment. He scored 175 runs with a strike rate of 124.11.But his inning came to an end when India needed only 19 runs from 18 balls. After his wicket, India bowled out in just two overs and lose the match.

1. Gwalior, February 24, 2010, 200* v South Africa – ODI

Before that day, a double century by an individual in one day cricket was like a dream for all the cricket players and cricket lovers. But the crowd in Gwalior stadium and fans all over the world saw a miracle by God of Cricket. He came, He started batting, he started making runs from boundaries, and finally he made a history. He became first batsman in the world to score 200 runs in a one day match. He scored 200* runs in just 147 balls (with a strike rate of 136.05).He scored 118 runs from boundaries only (25X4,3X6).His score in that match is almost half of team’s score 401.
