Kelly Slater is one of the top professional surfers in the world because of his competitiveness. He has won different tournaments and earned dozens of titles. In fact, because of his undeniable skills in surfing, he was ranked on ASP World Tour and has garnered 38,950 points making him the number 1 surfer!

Duke Kahanamoku

Duke was a multi talented person who was one of those surf lovers who spread the sport of surfing. He was also an actor, a swimmer and a beach volleyball player. He is considered as one of the best surfers because of the fact that he used his surfing skills to rescue as many fisherman as he can back and forth using his surf board during a fishing vessel accident.

Laird Hamilton

Laird is known for being a big wave surfer. He has contributed a lot in the surfing industry, in fact he was one of the co-inventor of the so called tow-in surfing. He started his surfing career in 1980’s at the age of 17 and won a lot of titles.

Jordy Smith

Jordy started learning surfing at an early age of 6; he then continued his passion and surf his way to fame. Coming from South Africa, he was able to compete on the WCT or World Tour Championship. He won different surfing competitions too and one of which is the World Qualifying Series. In the year 2002, he was ranked 2nd in the World Title.

Taj Burrow

Another competitor in the ASP World Tour, Taj is a native of Australia who is considered to be the youngest surfer to ever compete in the ASP World Tour. Because of this, it only shows that Taj is more filled with surfing skills that even at such as young age, he managed to beat other professional senior surfers out there.

Julian Wilson

Aside from being an ambassador for breast cancer, Julian is also a professional surfer in Australia who is said to be competing on the Association of Surfing Professionals. Back in 2011, he was ranked as the 9th surfer on ASP World Tour despite being a rookie.

Kai Otton

Another competitor on the ASP World Tour is Kai Otton who is from Sydney, Australia. His favourite wave is Merimbula bar and one of his famous manoeuvres is the drop wallet. Kai’s surfing skills was mostly inspired by Dan Ross. Kai is also considered as one of the best surfers in the world.

Josh Kerr

Another Australian surfer is Josh Kerr who said his life inspirations were Kelly Slater, Michael Peterson and Andy Irons. He is one of the best because when he started out back in 2009, his world rank was at 34th and his recent year 2012 competition, he made a lot of improvements from 34th to ranked 8.

Nat Young

Robert Nat Young is a famous surfer from Australia who is also an author. He is considered as one of the greatest for he has written and contributed a lot of things in the sport of surfing. After his retirement, he tirelessly wrote and authored surfing books as well as sail boarding.

CJ Hobgood

A native of Florida, Clifton is an ASP surfer who competes in dozens of professional surfing competition together with his twin brother Damien Hobgood. He was once a rookie of the year of ASP or Association Surfer Professionals back in 1999. A very versatile surfer who also plays tennis and has done filmography.
