The job of DJs is very challenging. They mix songs by syncing three or more melodies to produce a new sound. According to some studies, there are at least 1.25M DJs working professionally around the world. They are scattered through different genres, too. Some are into house music; others are into hip hop, and so on. With the proliferation of DJs, ten of them shine among the rest.

Joel Thomas Zimmerman, more popularly known as Deadmau5, produces an array of styles within the house genre. He sometimes dabbles with other forms of electronic dance music. Deadmau5 is a Canadian progressive-house music producer who has tracks included in numerous dance album collections.

Swedish DJ, producer, and remixer, Avicii is best identified with the house genre. He says that he is influenced by other more established DJs like Daft Punk and Tiesto. His collaboration with fellow DJ David Guetta, Sunshine, was nominated for Best Dance Recording in the 2011 Grammy Awards. This year, he collaborated with Ericsson to produce Avicii X You to produce the world’s first crowd sourced song.

Afrojack has worked with numerous artists including Pitbull, Beyonce and Eva Simons. He won the European Borders Breaker Award in 2012 for his collaborations with artists around the world.

Aside from being Alicia Keys’ better half, Swizz Beatz is an established record producer, composer, and hip hop recording artist. He was named as one of the ‘Top 50 Hip Hop Producers of All Time’ by The Source.

Electronic musician and singer-songwriter Skrillex first gained critical acclaim in 2011 after winning the MTV Electronic Dance Music Artist. Skrillex also took home three Grammys including “Best Dance Recording”.
